OOU: SUG Rejects Increment In Tuition Fee, Order New And Old Students To Stop Paying

The Students’ Union Government of Olabisi Onabanjo University has rejected the obnoxious increase in tuition fee recently announced by the University management and the union has ordered for the stoppage in payment of tuition fee by both new and old students forthwith.

The decision of the school management which is retrogressive, an enemy to quality education globally and a pointer to a show of autocratic rule would not stand.
While there can never be moral justification for the unfortunate decision of the school management through increment in tuition fee, it continually exploit students, parents and guardians unduly.

We wish to state categorically that it is the duty of the students’ union government to protect the interest of its members at all time which also suggest that students should not be made to pay through their noses even now that the economic situation of the  country is tense.

The students’ union government has also communicated its decisions to other sister union within the school and other notable student bodies within and outside the university.

This is to show that the students’ union is on its toes to fast-track the reversal in the sudden increment of tuition fee. It is a total rejection from the entire students populace and on this we stand. “The union shall employ the use of force to further enforce its decisions if not complied with”.

We therefore call on all students to support this fight against “exploitation” and rise to stamp-out corruption playing through “back- door” in the administrative system of our university.

The confidence repose in us by students is forever strong and we shall never allow for intimidation in fighting a just course. It should be noted that these decisions remain unchanged while we call for “strict” compliance on the part of our students. Do ensure to share the post with others.
